Wow, still trying to catch my breath from all the excitement of Grand Final week! We are now in Year 2 of our 5 year Development Plan at RunawayBay and 2009 has been a very successful year for us. Many of the players from Year 1 of the program have matured
Congratulations to Fraser Cuba and the senior team for winning promotion to the Premier League.UNDEFEATED!!!
A great effort by my Reserve Grade Squad also. Scoring over 100 goals in the League this season, they were unlucky losing out in the Grand Final. In Reserve Grade this year we used several 15 year olds throughout the season. Well done to two of them - Brendan and Darian - who played in the Grand Final. Brendan being named Player of the Match.
In our younger age groups we also had U/11 and U 12 Div 1 teams both undefeated premiers as were our U/12 Div 2 team
From our 11 and 12 Div 1 teams we have 15 players representing North East Zone for under 11's. These players are vying for Gold Coast representative places in 2010.
Also, from the 12 Div 1 team, we have had 8 players represent their district in U/12 Schoolboys. 3 of these represented their Region and 1 represented Qld at the National Titles in Adelaide.
We have some immense talent coming through the ranks within our Club and I will be eager to see if we assist in producing a National Team Representative Player in the not too distant future. I must add here a big thank you to the tireless effort of Brian Cox and Boris for their Keeper Coaching. We are one of the few Clubs that have specialized Goalkeeper training available and it was evident with the amount of improvement in our keepers.
To the Sponsors, individual and Club, thank you, your generous contributions have allowed us to ensure a number of our squads look professional.
We had 9 teams representing the Club in the Grand Finals. 7 were successful in winning on the day. That was an awesome effort and I would like to congratulate all players, coaches and support staff for the quality of football that was on display.
ROOBALL
Again, we had a very strong representation in the non competitive ranks. Myself and a few of the other coaches had a good opportunity to watch many games this year and, I must admit, we were very impressed with the quality of young players we have attracted to Runaway Bay.THESE PLAYERS ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR CLUB and are an important asset. We will be looking to have special skills sessions for the 8's, 9's and 10's next year. Congratulations to all on a great year and I hope all players enjoyed their season.
U/11's
Div 5 - The squad improved throughout the year and was unlucky not to progress through the Semi final stage. Well Done to Brad and the Squad.
Placing - 4th
Div 4 - Oh so close!!Losing in Final and just missing out on a spot in the Grand Final. Well done Casper and the squad on a super year. The Squad improved immensely through out the year. Hopefully we can take the next step in 2010.
Placing - 4th
Div 2 - This squad was a Development squad and Carlos did a magic job with these young players. I had the privilege to work with this squad a few times and I am excited by the potential we have within these ranks. Majority of players are under 10's with a couple of under 9's thrown in. A number of players from this squad will be involved in Champions Cup. These players will continue in their development next year and will improve even further. We need to walk before we can run and coaching can be a frustrating job. Many observers see medals as results and they fail to see the big picture. The rewards will be in the years to come.
Placing - 12th
Div 1 - The majority of this squad is made up of players from the 1st year of our development program. This squad was the only team within the Club to be undefeated in ALL games including semi finals and Grand Final. 8 of these players are in the Zonal 11's squad. Sadly, I feel we will lose a number of these boys to Representative Football next year so good have they been. All of this squad will be involved in Champions Cup duty. Well done on a super year and to Dom and Shane a big thank you for your support and persistence over the last 18 months. Quality always rises to the top!!!
Placing - 1st
U/12's
Div 3 - I had the pleasure of working with this squad on a number of occasions. What a great group of kids. These boys worked hard and there was a great improvement in their football as the year progressed. I'm looking forward to seeing how much this squad will improve in 2010.Well done Aydin on a great year.
Placing - 6th
Div 2 - What an excellent season these boys had...Undefeated Premiers and Grand Final Winners scoring an amazing 54 goals and conceding just 4. Two players still under 11. Lawrence had done a great job with this squad. Majority of these players are of high quality and I am looking forward to working with them in 2010. Congrats on a brilliant season. Majority of these boys will be on Champions Cup duty.
Placing - 1st
Div 1 - Well, what can I say about these guys!!... Seven players are still U/11. Majority of this squad are from Year 1 of our Development Program. Numerous Representative honors in Schoolboys Football including 1 State Representative - Well Done Nick - great goal against NSW to win the National Titles in Adelaide. Two of the boys, Tim and Ethan, represented Gold Coast in the U/12 Rebel Youth League Squad. The Squad was undefeated Premiers scoring a massive 79 goals winning the League by 20 points and also Grand Final winners with a 5-0 shoreline. All of these players have Champions Cup duty. Sadly, again, we will lose a lot of these players to Representative Football next year. Well done to all players and a big thank you to a wonderful group of parents. A personal thank you to Brian Cox for all your help. James, your work with this squad is very under rated - You were brilliant. To Leisa, what would we do without you - thank you?
Placing - 1st
U/13's Div 2 - The squad improved throughout the year. The quality of their football increased as the season progressed. A few unlucky decisions saw results go against us. Placement on the table did not reflect how well this team went. Well done to James and the squad on a very good season. You have made us all proud.
Placing - 6th
Div 1 - Initially, we considered placing this squad in Div 2. Players requested that they play Div 1 and they did the Club very proud. They were extremely unlucky not to make the top 4 missing out on goal difference. Improvement of football quality was evident across the park. Well done to Robbie for being identified as a potential Gold Coast Representative Player. Dario, your tireless effort with this squad showed in the end. Well done and congratulations for a super season and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2010.
Placing - 6th
U/14's
Div 3 - Again, placing on table didn't reflect the way the team performed. Had the pleasure of watching this team play many times. Was running second in the Competition and were penalized points by Gold Coast Soccer for playing an U/11 and an U/12 player as they were in Div 1. Scott and Harry, you did a fabulous job with this squad and I look forward to seeing how they go in 2010.
Placing - 5th
Div 1 - Brilliant season by this squad. Scoring an amazing 90 goals on their way to winning the Premiership. Were unfortunate not to get back onto level terms in the Grand Final after a very courageous comeback. Loads of potential in this squad for the future years. Well done to Fraser and Gary for a successful season and we look forward to seeing all the boys again next season.
Placing -1st
U/15's
Div 1 - Another unlucky Squad was our 15 Div 1. Coached by one of our First Grade players - Matt Styler - this squad played entertaining football throughout the season. Also had players that played Representative Schoolboys Football. Well done Matt and the boys and we look forward to a bigger and better 2010...
Placing - 5th
U/17's
Div 1 - Initially, this squad was supposed to compete in the U/16 League. "Requested" by Gold Coast Soccer that they participate in U/17 League, the boys played great football all year finishing 5th in a competition that consisted of many clubs using their Youth League players. Several of these players made appearances for me in the Reserve Grade Squad. Great opportunity for these boys to break into the Youth Squad for season 2010. Well done Reg on a great year.
Placing - 5th
Finally, to all the Parents and support staff within the Club, your effort, along with Coaches and the players, have ensured that the Bayhawks have had one of the most successful seasons in the Clubs History.
We look forward to seeing you all in the coming season and help us to reach new goals.
Training and gradings will be completed earlier than previous years allowing for coaches to commence work with their squads. Please keep checking on our website for dates and times.
Champions Cup Squads training for 10's through to 12's will be at 5 pm Tuesday and Thursday. For times on the 14's, please confirm with Fraser.
I look forward to seeing you all very soon.

2009 Under 11 Div 1 Season Report
Hi all, My name is Joe Lao and I am the under 11 division 1 team manager, and just would like to say a few words regarding the team. Firstly, I would like to thank the kids BEN DEVINE ,AARON GLEESON,SAM BLOOR,SAJID FENCE, RILEY THOMSON-KING ALEX FAULKNER,CIAN CUBA,JACK MAHONEY,ELLIOTT HARTNELL-BAKER,AZZA READON,JORDON DORBEAUX,PAT DORING, JOSHY LAO,MAX EMBERY.What a team, undefeated all year, and we won the league for 2009 beating Southport 1-0.
We as a team have trained hard all year round to get where we are. With the help from the coaches Shane Readon and Dom Dorbeaux, their experience and JJ's guidance have helped us to where we are today. For myself, I have gained experience in this role handling 14 kids and parents which I have grown to like. For some of the squad we still have the Champions Cup in a few weeks which will be a lot of fun and for others the zonal trails yet to come. There is still a lot of work for the little buggers but at the end of all this the kids are the winners. Well done and congratulations to you all. Joe
2009 Under 12 Div 2 Season Report What a wonderful season 2009 turned out to be, my first year at Runaway bay. Undefeated All Season, - Played 14 games Won 14, scored 54 goals and only conceded 4.
Top effort team.
After 7 years at Musgrave Soccer club, my son Joel and I finally made to move to the Bay and what a memorable move that turned out to be. Joel took up his usual goalie role and myself took on the role of team manager, for the under 12 Division 2 team. A role I was more than happy to perform, for such a brilliant side. A big thank you to our 3 main Coaches throughout the season, Lee, Paul and Lawrence for leading our team to minor premiership victory, undefeated. Stirling effort Gents well done Special thank you to all the player's parents who gave up their Saturday mornings to watch their son's play and win, thank you for your unerring support. Special mention goes to parents' Carl MORBY and Dane OLIVER for their coaching assistance throughout the season it was greatly appreciated. Congratulations to the players themselves, who made up this wonderful team, we are all very proud of your efforts to date. I hope you all try out for Division 1 next season, as your individual and combined soccer efforts this year, have highlighted, you are truly capable of playing at this higher level,
Well done boys.
But now, my personal appraisal of the players' individual playing performances, this season, in alphabetical order.
Andy AULTON, scored 4 goals this season, playing predominately centre mid field to ably assist the forwards in attack. Andy is a solid player, happy to play and perform in any position nominated and a worthy asset to any side.
Tom AULTON brother of Andy and highest goal soccer for our team with 24 goals, not bad when you are only 9! Tom is an awesome striker, who is almost guaranteed to score at least one but normally two goals per game. Tireless worker upfront and a formidable strike force to any side.
Sam "motor-mouth" CATALANO, team clown, scored 10 goals and obviously had the potential to score more (just ask him!) A gifted forward, who will be great player, if just he shuts up longer enough to heed professional advice, Sam will play in any position as long as it's striker or right wing and wearing number 7! Sam Thank you for the laughs mate, looking forward to see you play for Australia.
Anarion "the Phantom" GRAY scored 5 goals only, not bad considering he only turned up for 5% of the training sessions! Anarion played mostly left wing and ably assisted in attack by putting his inherit speed to good use. Overall Anarion was a fast and resourceful player. Hope to see you at training next season mate.
Brock JARMAN, son of the Bay's Club President Paul, kicked three goals himself, but ably assisted the team in securing many others. Brock's small frame belied his greater soccer ability and he proved time and time again, why he was such a valuable edition to the team both in attack and defence especially in the tackling department. Well played Brock.
Luke "Super boots" MARSH scored an impressive 16 goals, a very strong and gifted player's player with powerful kicking ability in both legs, and is quite capable of playing at Division One Level. Luke's powerhouse kicking game was instrumental in many of our attacking plays. A formidable attacking player anywhere on the field. Just watch those injuries mate.
Matt MORBY scored 3 goals, which this did not accurately reflect, his true playing ability. Matt was probably the best utility player on the field. Whilst playing predominately as left back, Matt was quite capable upfront in attacking play as well. A future player to watch and a great asset to have on your side. Well done mate.
Chris OMALLEY scored 3 goals, one of the quiet achievers of the team. Hardly spoke but performed his role at left mid or wing admirably. His overall game performance improved with every game he played, well done mate.
Jack "Rock of Gibraltar" OLIVER was a strong formidable stalwart of the team's last line of defence, at full back. But that defensive role did deter him from scoring 2 goals, off a penalty or a header when required. Jack was always instrumental in securing the final defensive line through barking commands to his fellow defensive colleagues of Bailey THEOBOLD, Brock JARMAN and Matt MORBY or leading the defensive charge himself. Jack was probably the best defender all season, well done mate.
Zack "Blowfly" PETERS whilst not scoring this season was a very solid, ever-reliable and tireless midfielder, who could be seen buzzing all over the park providing precision passes to the forwards in attack or assisting the back line in defence. Zac gave a strong performance in every game he played, well done mate.
Ellis "high ball" ROPER scored a very impressive 19 goals this season at striker and centre mid and should have kicked more, if he could only keep the ball under the goal bar, not over it! Ellis performed well every game but tended to wait for the ball too often up front. Ellis just needs to keep his temper and wayward boots in check and he will be great player in future, all the best mate.
Darwin SEJDIC another gifted player scored 4 goals at the start of the season when playing upfront, then left for Bosnia, his home country for 3 months. Upon his return he was relegated to right back, much to his distain. However, Darwin proved to be a very handy defender which clearly highlighted he can effectively play anyway on the field. Darwin always read the game play well and always positioned himself to be most effective in either attack or defensive roles. Great to have you back mate.
Bailey THEOBOLD was a late edition to the side, whilst only scoring on the very last game, proved to be very resourceful in defence individually, or in unison with the back line, to shut down any opposition's attack. Bailey gave a solid defensive effort all season, well done.
Joel "the Goalie" UNDERWOOD provided another strong season (7th year in a row) of Goal-keeping defence and became a crucial asset to the team, this being evident from only conceding 3 goals all season. Joel was fearless in defence of goal and regularly put his body on the line to shut down potential goals, regardless of the injuries sustained to him or them! Joel over the season, displayed remarkable skill, agility and reflexes in keeping the goal mouth relatively goal free almost all season. Top effort mate.
Well done boys. Hope to see you all again, next season.
Friday the 14/8/2009 saw our team travel to Nerang for the second last game of our season. Still smarting from the 1 nil loss to Coomera the week before , the team started the game in excellent fashion by controlling the play from the kick off and by scoring Two(2) goals in the first 3 minutes. The remainder of the first half saw our team dominate play giving Nerang very little chance to begin any type of attack. On the occasions that Nerang did push toward our goal, our defenders shut the raid down and with great through balls began our next attacking raid. The second half started a lot slower and mistake in defence saw Nerang score very early. This was the last time that Nerang had a scoring opportunity, the team then regained their composure and began to control possession and field position. The constant raids on the Nerang goal saw their goal keeper get plenty of practice, some shots on goal deflected off the posts only to be belted home by another Bayhawk player. Well done on another great performance. Final score 6 - 1

UNDER 12 DIV.2 MATCH REPORT Saturday 15 August
This week, the boys took on Palm Beach at home beating them 4 nil (5 nil last time). After a fairly scrappy start which unfortunately is becoming the norm for our team. Sam CATALANO opened the scoring ledger with a cheeky chip over the goalie's left shoulder (just to prove he's not all talk, thank goodness). This goal, resulting from some precision passing from Luke MARSH and Ellis ROPER to get him within striking range. Matt MORBY is proving to be very expensive for his old man, at $10 per goal, Matt scored two goals down the left wing. Keep it up mate, send him broke! Tom AULTON who has been fairly quiet the last two games, kicked his 24th goal for the season, with another cheeky chip over the goalie's head (poor bloke). Awesome effort mate will done! Luke MARSH was in the wars this week, after copping a hard ball right in the face in the first half and being kicked in the side by a disgruntled Palm Beach player in the second. Plenty of Ice and rest mate we need your belting boots for the finals. Overall the first half play, was good but the second half was even better with the boys unafraid to manoeuvre the ball around the field to our players out wide, showing the faith and confidence they have in their fellow players, which was pleasing to see. Joelie the Goalie UNDERWOOD worked diligently in goal as usual, to keep Palm Beach scoreless again. Joel and the team have only conceded three goals for the season, a phenomenal effort, boys well done. We are all very proud of your combined efforts to date. One game to go to be undefeated all season, good luck boys, not that you need it!
Our recent trip to Merrimac on Friday night not only saw our undefeated team totally dominate the Merrimac team but also has the team winning the premiership. From the opening whistle the team controlled the play , kept the majority of possession and had many shots on goal, several hitting the posts. Our team did very well to concentrate with all of the commotion on the sideline, sorry guys. Final score 3 nil.
Our next goal however is to remain undefeated in our next three games and complete an excellent season. Our next game is against Coomera, our strongest competition at home and I am sure that they will be out to break our undefeated run . We then play Nerang at Nerang and our final game is at home against Banora Point.
Once again WELL DONE guys on your efforts this season.
Regards, Gary Doherty-Manager
Under 12 Div 2 Sunday Aug 2
Today we took on Merrimac again at home. This time our boys came prepared to play and from the game whistle, with our team starting to dominate proceedings which ultimately led to a 5 -1 win. Our second only goal concession this season, from a penalty and against this team as well (last score 4-1) Today Ellis ROPER and Luke MARSH were on fire producing two excellent goals apiece. Luke could have snared a third but Matt MORBY took the penalty and the goal to secure his first goal for the season, well done mate. That will be expensive Dad! Despite all the boys playing very well unfortunately the game deteriorated due to the ref, making a few questionable and inconsistent calls, which inflamed the boys and the game became a fairly spiteful affair. The Merrimac coach declaring it due to the way our team was coached! Talk about sour grapes. Being undefeated and only conceding two goals all season, I believe our team is being coached very well. Winners are grinners and losers can please themselves.

Aug 1, Today we trekked all the way down to Banora point to play their team at home. Unfortunately the boys left their superior soccer skills at home and for the first 10 minutes played like drunken monkeys with the forward momentum of Ray CHARLES on a road trip! At one stage I thought we would have to endure a humiliating nil all draw, as we remained scoreless for the first half. Despite the back line of Bailey THEOBOLD, Jack OLIVER and Matt MORBY and of course Zac PETERS, producing formidable defence, our forwards just could not find the net. Ellis ROPER headed over the goal mouth, Luke could only find areas outside to the net, and Sam CATALANO who for once lets his boots and not his mouth do the talking could not link up with other players to score, despite several wonderful crosses across the goal mouth. Sam played one of his best games all season, and was unfortunate not be rewarded with a goad. Fortunately, Jack OLIVER used his head, quite literally, and scored our only goal from a brilliant header from a powerful penalty cross from super boot Luke MARSH. The boys including a wonderful goalkeeping display by Joelie the Goalie, rallied well in the end to keep Banora Point scoreless in the second half to secure our second 1 nil victory. Better luck tomorrow boys.

UNDER 14 DIV.1 MATCH REPORT V'S PALM BEACH
Hello All, Round 15 26/6/09 saw our team travel to Palm Beach for the last time this year. Our teams on field discipline and enthusiasm was truly lacking and concentration at important times of the game made the game a lot harder than it should have been. Palm Beach really pushed our team to perform and only a handful of the team did. Our team work and poor ball control meant that the guys did a lot of chasing. Game plans that have been our success this year were rarely seen which gave Palm Beach to much time to control us. We did however manage to score 2 goals, but then relaxed to much and let Palm Beach get 2 easy goals. I'm sure that this will be the last we see of that type of complacency. Final score 2 all.

We are just past halfway into the season and boy have we come far! Praise goes out to the boys whose ball skills have come along very well! Keep on practicing on passing to each other and having fun! A special thanks go out to the parents who bring their child/ren everyweek for training and the game on saturday. I haven't met a more dedicated group of parents! Keep up the great work Rhys, Zeb, Henry and Mike!

Another stupendous win from the boys who can't be beaten Under 12 Div 2! Tom (who else) AULTON opened the 6 nil blitz against Mudgeeraba at the Bay with a quick goal right in front and followed up again with another one of just the same in the second half. (17 so far) Sam CALATANO finally found the back of the net this week despite several attempts out of the last three. Ellis ROPER redeemed himself from
not attending training this week to also score a goal. He could have scored 3 but got cocky and tried to blast them up close when he merely could have tapped them over the line. Something to work at training hey Ellis? Luke MARSH consistently plays a strong game and was rewarded with powerful goal in front. Even our full back got a goal this week. Jack OLIVER played up front in the second half and made the most of it with a goal himself, well done. Chris OMALLEY also played well on the wing. Bailey THEOBOLD was unlucky not to score his first goal of the season maybe tomorrow Bailey, (if its still on). Despite a 6 -0 drubbing in the rain , Mudgeeraba made the boys worked hard for all them. Keep up the top work boys congratulations on such a sterling effort so far. Hopefully the Mountain game is still on so we can have back to back win for the weekend.

13 June 2009
Today, the boys scored another inspiring 5 -0 victory over Palm Beach on their home turf! Number 5 is fast becoming our favourite number, with today being our third 5 nil win in a row. Tom "Awesome" AULTON opened the ledger with a quick goal, right in front within minutes of the game whistle sounding. He backed that up with another top goal in the second half off a goalie fumble allowing Tom, to pick up his 15th for the season, well done. Luke MARSH dropped an absolute bomb in goal from about 40 meters out, straight over the goalie's head. Even Schwartzer would be hard pressed to stop that monster. Luke was unlucky not to score a double himself, despite several other valiant attempts throughout the game. Sean WESTELL, however did snare a double, off two great individual attacks at goal excellent work. Sam CATALANO and Ellis ROPER remained scoreless this week, despite many probing forays at the Palm Beach goalie. Better luck, next week guys. Again our strong Back- line of Jack Oliver, Matt MORBY and Bailey THEOBOLD held true and worked well to keep Palm beach scoreless at home. That's gotta hurt! Honourable defensive mentions also go to Zac PETERS, Andy AULTON, Brock "everywhere but in position" JARMAN and Chris OMALLEY whose game performance is improving every week, keep up the good work mate. JOEL was under the pump this week, but handled the pressure superbly, shutting down anything Palm beach could fire at him. Well done Captain Impenetrable. Well played everyone. To quote the Palm beach Coach, "So that's why they're top of the table hey" Yep.
PS. New game draw on the Bay's Website, two games next week Saturday AND Sunday if you can make it. Please see me re transport if required for Sunday's Game.
all the best.

Under 12 Div 2 still unbeaten! Great effort
Still Undefeated! Last Saturday the boys took on Banora Point at home and won again 5 -0. The boys are leading their competition points table on 9 points with 14 goals. Sorry guys, long way to come to lose. Goals were scored by the ever consistent goal scoring machine of Tom AULTON (currently highest goal scorer for the team at 13) from two great crosses by Anarian GRAY (left wing) and Matt MORBY (left back) respectively, who is another welcome edition to the team with his sold defence. Two more were scored by Sam CATALANO off ruthless individual attacks down the right-hand side. Luke MARSH also scored with a good drive at goal from about 20 meters out. Keep firing that cannon mate! Chris OMALLEY was unlucky not to score as well with a good attacking from centre mid field, the Back line of Bailey THEOBOLD (right back); Jack OLIVER (full back) and Matt MORBY worked in unison with Brock JARMAN at defensive mid field to keep Banora scoreless despite some spirited attacks down both wings. Joelie the Goalie had little to do again with our back line working so well defensively which was just as well, having four players down. To Sean and Andy good luck on your scholarship applications, Ellis get well soon, we miss you up front and TAYLAN don't forget us. Thank you for all the parents for their ongoing support and encouragement at all the games all the best. See you at Coomera 8.00am (if it's still on, will confirm Friday. watch the website)
Well done guys, keep up the good work and bring on the finals!

Under 14 div.1 Updates
Hello All,
Wednesday Night Saw our team travel to Kingscliff for the first time this year, Kingscliff played a very defensive game with only one forward , 5 mid fielders and 4 defenders. It took our boys a little time to realise that they were not going to break through unless the ball went wide. Once the ball was sent to the wings , the speed and skill of our team became evident. With numerous raids down both wings saw many crosses and shots at goal. Not all shots were successful but the intent was there. The second half was much the same , with our team controlling the ball and Kingscliff not having much of an answer. Our teams enthusiasm was a lot better than our previous outing , but needs a little fine tuning. Final score 5 - 0.
Friday night, Saw our team absolutely dominate the Robina City team from the start, Once again our enthusiasm had increased which helped the team with it's pressure and control over the opposition. We were able to score a couple of goals in the first half after several missed opportunities. In saying that , Robina was able to score two(2) soft goals due to our own mistakes. This was quickly rectified by the boys on the field. The second half was a very good display of control, speed and finishing. Robina had no answers for the constant raids they were having to face, which had the forwards, midfielders and defenders all scoring. Final score 9 - 2.

Under 12 Div Apology
Profound apologies to those families of Under 12 Div 2 players who like me, traipsed up the Mountain only the find out the games had been called off. My wife had failed to put her mobile on charge and missed the call sorry. She promises to get me my first mobile for my birthday by June 14 to avoid further embarrassment! Please note I will double check on the eve of away games in future, to ensure they are definitely on, I didn't check the draw this time as my wife and I were doing a 15k run this morning as part of the Marathon preparations and missed the message on the website. We went from the run to the mountain prior to checking our soccer club site. But we had pleasant time up Mt Tamborine nonetheless and I hoped the other families did to. all the best.

Under 12 Div 2 Update
Good Morning,
Recently our Goalie Joel ("Joelie the Goalie") was selected into the Gold Coast Northern Zone Team. Yesterday he played in the Gold Coast Carnival for possible selection into the Gold Coast Regional Team.Gold Coast Northern zones boys won the competition undefeated. This being the first time in 3 years this has occurred. Gold Coast Northern Zone Girls also won their competition.
Unfortunately Joel was not selected for Gold Coast Region, the goal keeper positions went to 2 very capable goalies, namely Elliot from Under 12 Div 1 (well done) and the goalkeeper from Gold Coast Southern Zone I believe (Nerang Goalie for this Division) congratulations. To date, Joel has been in the winning team of all games he has played this season. Stirling effort, well done. Also Joel recently won a bike from his School's P& C so congratulations and well deserved.
Well done to Paul JARMAN and his trusty Runaway Bay Soccer Crew for hosting the Gold Coast Carnival yesterday, a great day was had by all. Thank you to all the player's parents, who caught a mild case of swine flu (for one day) so they could see their sons and daughters play in the carnival! It was great to see so much parental support to this great event. I encourage all players, especially the great (undefeated) players in Under 12 Div 2, in future, to try out for representative football whenever they can, as it's a great experience and the calibre of Soccer is excellent.
Note to Under 12 Div 2 parents and players: Saturday Game at home 8:00am for 8:30 start against Banora Point. Make up game Sunday 11:00 for 11:30 we again take again take on Tamborine on the Mountain (Guissman Oval)
Any problems please advise. All the best.

Runaway Bay Under 12 Div 2 is still undefeated after 8 games, despite Gold Coast Soccer changing the draw!
Round 8 (old draw) or Round 2 (new draw) saw the Bay take on Pac Pines at home last Saturday to secure our 8th win in row 4-0. Goals were scored by Anarion GRAY and Ellis Roper, with two being scored from our great new addition to the team, Sean Westell. However everyone in the team played their usual best to secure the victory especially our backs to rally against spirited attacks from Pac Pines to keep them scoreless and I applaud them for their individual
Efforts. Bon voyage to Darwin SEJDIC returning to Serejevo Bosnia for 3 months, hoping he's back in time for the finals. Sam CATALANO can't play this week so it should be a lot quieter at training this week! Well done guys

Under 14 div.1 VS Banora Point 5-0 WIN 09/05/09
Hello All,
Our last game saw our team face the Banora Point team for the first time this year, Once the game finally got started the team had a generous amount of possession and field position which lead to many shots at goal in the first 20 minutes of the game. Due to being a little impatient , all of our shots missed the target. When we didn't have the ball , the team would pressure the Banora Point team into a mistake which stopped Banora Point from having any shots at our goal in the first half. We scored our first goal just before half time and after the break the team began came down and really dominate in the second half, this constant pressure and domination provided the team with another 4 goals in the second half. Our forwards, midfield and defenders all scored. Full time score 5 nil.
